I find this piece beautiful 1) because its sunflowers, which are my favorite flower and 2) because of what the painting means. In something that seems so bright and lively at first glance, you get the full spectrum of life. The beginning and the end. To me this painting shows that life is beautiful, and yes, even death, in its own way can be beautiful too.

I remember the first time I saw this was in first grade when an art teacher came around, very rarely, and discussed an artist. When she displayed Vincent Van Gogh this was my favorite piece! Not only were there flowers, and every shade of yellow, I'd seen it before. This used to hang in my great grandma's house. It's a weird and beautiful thing how a piece or art can bring so many memories.
